Music to an Artist

Music to an Artist, it’s more than just Talent.                     My name is Shotty Mills, I a rapper artist, an author, a blogger and a podcaster. If you ask any music artist like myself. I am within that particular category myself. Music has varying meanings to a wide range of individuals in populations. To make it within the music industry, it’s a never ending grind. It requires years of hard work, and it’s more than just talent alone. I am reflecting on this right now, because I feel it’s something I need to address. Anybody even within the business world would understand this never ending struggle. It’s more than just how you interact with people in a business sense. It also requires you to apply other applications effectively. Marketing is a crucial edge that can do wonders with anyone in the musical industry.                                       Think of building a brand as being your name in the music industry. It stands for and becomes prominent for what you are as brand. In order to expand yourself, as business, you must build on what you have already build. Similarly, it’s like laying a brick down without creating a solid foundation first off. No one really understands how a music career is first built on a solid foundation. Lately, this is what I have learned and continue to learn everyday. This is concept that I reflect on and utilize to help self-evaluate myself overall.                                  The Great Wall of China was definitely not built overnight. Think of it this way building a brand would work, in the same concept. You just can’t expect it all to cement together without actually having the correct ingredients. People may see the success, you have achieved within your music career. But no one sees the countless times, you have spent perfecting your craft. As you grasped your pen trying to write out lyrics on a paper. For me, I struggle with this multiple times staring blankly at an open page. I knew the future had something better in store for me and that’s when I discovered music and writing. Keep shooting for the stars everyone and realize your potential.
